About Turning Point

Welcome to Turning Point

A Message from Principal Kevin Ryan

Dear Turning Point Families and Students,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year at Turning Point!

At Turning Point, we believe that every student's journey is unique, and a traditional classroom is not the only path to success. Whether you are a returning family or a potential new student, we are thrilled to welcome you to our community.

This year, we want to focus on "Every Step Counts." The importance of this theme lies in recognizing that progress is not always a straight line, but every single choice to show up and move forward matters. Whether you are taking big leaps forward or small, steady strides, every bit of progress brings you closer to your graduation goals.

Our mission at Turning Point is to provide a supportive, flexible, and encouraging environment where you can rediscover your potential, build confidence, and take control of your future. Our dedicated staff is committed to meeting you exactly where you are and helping you navigate each step of the way.

We look forward to collaborating with parents and empowering students to make this school year a positive new beginning toward a bright future.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can ever be of service to this important mission.

Here is to making EVERY step count!

Sincerely,

Kevin Ryan

Good to Know

At Turning Point, we typically serve Chehalis School District students, at the eleventh grade level and up. Our students need to be referred to Turning Point by another Chehalis School District school or they must be court ordered to attend by a referring juvenile court or probation officer.

Turning Point offers a smaller, quieter environment than a traditional high school. The majority of classwork is done online and course options. We don’t offer sports or music programs and our selection of courses and electives are smaller than traditional high school. We provide students with an alternative learning environment that recognizes that they are unique individuals with varied circumstances and needs that may not be met in a traditional school setting; and provides a supportive, caring environment where students can thrive, succeed, and graduate from high school.
