Labor Day & First Week of 2025-2026 Reminders

This is a reminder that all Chehalis School district buildings and facilities will be closed this coming Monday, Sept. 1 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. The first week of school for Chehalis School District students will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 2. The schedule for the first week of the 2025-2026 school year is:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 2 - First Day for students in grades 4-12
      • 9th-12th graders attend W.F. West High School and have classes 7:40 a.m. to 2:10 p.m.
      • Students at Turning Point/Lewis County Alternative have morning schedule 8-11 a.m. and afternoon session 11:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
      • Students at VISIONS have classes 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
      • 6-8th graders attend Chehalis Middle School and have classes 7:50 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. 
      • 4-5th graders attend Orin Smith Elementary and have classes 8:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 3 - First Day for students in grades 1-3.
      • 3rd graders attend Orin Smith Elementary and have classes 8:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
      • 1st & 2nd graders attend James Lintott Elementary and have classes 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
      • All other grades attend as stated above. This is a regular schedule day, not an early release Wednesday.
  • Friday, Sept. 5 - First Day for Kindergarteners
      • Kindergarteners attend James Lintott Elementary and have classes 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
      • All other grades attend as stated above.
